The surfer. Tanned, freckle-faced, wavy blond hair, perfect body for a wet suit and a surfboard casually hooked under one arm. Everyone shares this image, miles of copper coastline and untamed waves and some crazy surfer searching for the wildest ride. So, maybe the scenario isn’t quite the same when it comes to the coastlines of Britain, but at least we have the raging sea…and a lot of it, making it an ideal place to practise.

Now, surfing is definitely something you shouldn’t try without proper instruction first. You should preferably during the warmer months, too. You don’t want to be put off for life, do you? You know how cold the seas surrounding the United Kingdom can be, but at least there isn’t a lot to consider when you want to get kitted out to pretend you’re a cool surfer. Surfboard (or longboard and bodyboard), wet and dry suits and…that’s about it! Simple, isn’t it? Now all you need to do is decide which sea you want to freeze in first. You don't even have to do the surfing part. We're sure all the ladies or the men (or both!) will be falling over themselves to follow you along the beach at the mere mention of the word  'surfer'.
