Torville and Dean have had their day, so now it’s your turn to skate in their stead. Ice skating has never lost its charm – Strictly Ice Skating tells us that much. It’s never been more popular than it is now, perhaps even since the days of its invention several thousand years ago in chilly Finland. As you might imagine, the most dangerous aspect of ice skating is falling on the ice. We’re not going to lie, it hurts. This is why we recommend you get quite a bit of practise in, preferably some training from a professional, before going it alone. You can skate for fun, or you can skate for sport, but either way there are some bits and bobs you need to do it. Like, you know, a pair of skates for instance. Clothing, too. We’ve heard down the grapevine that ice rinks tend to get a little on the nippy side.

If ice isn’t so much to your interests, there are other kinds of skating out there, too. Those require just as much protective equipment, but thankfully all you need is some protective gear and a quiet road.
