The sport of gymnastics has surprisingly ancient roots. Invented by the Greeks, gymnastics was a sport intended to keep oneself incredibly fit and healthy and required a serious amount of dexterity, agility and strength. It was also notoriously performed naked, an element thankfully no longer important to us because we think that would more than likely make use wince for potentially excruciating injuries than gasp in awe for every twist and flip. We also don’t think the judges would be focusing on any gymnastic ability… Putting aside the image of naked, Greek gymnasts, this sport definitely requires practise and an expert on hand to train you. If you’ve gotten that part out the way, you’re probably going to require the appropriate clothing, something that is going to give you the freedom to move. Aside from yourself and something to train on, there isn’t a lot you especially need. You need even less if you really want to do it the Greek way.
