Most of us can remember the Sunday afternoon phenomenon that was Bullseye. We all know the familiar cry of ‘one hundred and eighty!’ and we all recognise the sight of Bully the Bull, providing you’re of a certain age anyway. Believe it or not, Bullseye is still being aired, albeit in the early hours. Though darts may not seem like the most prestigious of sports, the fact that it is the sport of choice in many pubs around the country definitely says a lot. Anyone can play, too! You don’t really need too much skill to be able to hit a circular board with a pointy stick – the skill comes in when you actually aim for a particular target with point scoring in mind. The great thing about playing darts is that you really don’t need many things to get started. Quite simply, all you require is a dart board and some darts. You can of course get a darts strip if you really want to and set up some mini tournaments. What better way to wile away a few hours playing a loved game with friends? Just don’t try and play it after a few drinks because suddenly everything might become a target.
