An overview to the eBay Importer
The eBay importer is a great solution for gaining maximum item exposure with minimal effort. It will grab all your items from eBay and copy them into your adflyer shop window.
Does it cost anything for me to import my eBay items?
No. It’s free to use the importer. You will only be charged final value fees when your item sells on adflyer. If you're a first time adflyer seller we will have to verify your card by running a £1.01 card and billing address verification upon registration. This is to protect both buyers and sellers when using adflyer.
What information will be grabbed from eBay?
The ebay importer will gather as much detail as it can. Usually this includes your item’s title, description, price, pictures, category and shipping information. It will also import your eBay feedback, which is highly beneficial, as it gives buyers greater confidence about buying your items on adflyer. Please remember that the importer generally only goes back as far as 60 days. This means that any items added to eBay prior to this time will not be imported to adflyer.
If you want the importer to go back further, and increase the amount of items grabbed from your eBay account, please send a request to
ebayimportteam@adflyer.co.uk
How long will it take for my items to import?
Importing your items from eBay is usually completed within a few hours, although sometimes it can take as long as 24-48 hours, depending on system load.
What kind of items can the importer grab?
The importer can import both standard eBay and eBay motors listings. Some listing templates (especially ones with complex HTML or Javascript) can confuse the importer, and lead to some item descriptions not being imported.
Does it import my categories?
Yes, the importer will find and import your main eBay item category.
What doesn’t the eBay importer do?
There are a couple known areas where the eBay importer is currently limited:
Pictures are only imported once, when the item is first created. The eBay importer will only grab the pictures for an item when that item is first discovered on eBay. So, if you were to post an item on eBay, import it to adflyer, return to eBay and revise the listing to add more pictures, and then re-import that listing to adflyer, the item would not show the extra pictures that you added upon revising it. In this case, your best bet is to delete and re-import the item.
Price is not imported for auction listings. Since the true price of an item listed in auction format is unknown, we don't try to guess at the price of your auction items. Once your items have imported we recommend that you edit your items prices from within your seller account.
Calculated shipping and advanced shipping options not imported. If your items were setup to use calculated shipping or other advanced shipping options.
Advanced HTML descriptions. eBay and adflyer have quite different guidelines for what html is ok. In 90% of cases, html within eBay descriptions' will be modified when the item is saved to adflyer. In some cases, very complex HTML may be ignored altogether. If this happens to you, you can email
ebayimportteam@adflyer.co.uk and we will review the formatting of your listings.
What happens if I import my items multiple times?
Your imported eBay items will be listed in your shop window until you mark items as sold or remove them completely. During each subsequent import duplicated items will be ignored. Any new eBay items will be imported to your shop window. This is to prevent loss of data within your edited adflyer item list.
Can I import eBay items to more than one of my shop windows?
Not compeltely. Only items that are not already listed in your shop window can be imported to your shop window. To ensure items listed on adflyer are not duplicated, we don't allow sellers to add items that are already listed to an additional shop window.
Can I move my eBay items from one shop window to another?
If you have mutiple shop windows you can indeed move items from one to another. First login to your adflyer account, then find the item you wish to move, and then select "edit this item". Once inside the edit page you can move items to your different shop windows by following the onscreen instructions.
Can I import items from different eBay accounts into my shop window?
Yes, First login to your existing adflyer account. Then proceed to the ebay import page, select the shop window you want to import your items to then follow the online instructions. Remember to use the login details for your additional eBay account.
Can I select the items I want to import from eBay?
Not at the moment. The eBay importer will import all your items, but it is easy to remove items from your adflyer shop window after they've been imported, and no items will be made available for sale until you make your shop window live.
Do I need to stay logged in during my import?
Not on our watch! Your items will import whether you're logged into adflyer or not.
Is there a maximum number of listings that I can import?
You are able to import as many items from eBay as you wish. However, the more items you import, the longer the total import will take.
