Here we will show you how to provide your property inventory file in the required format, together with some advice on increasing the likelihood of your properties being found when people look on search engines like Google and Yahoo!.


Although there are 25 fields within this guide, only 9 are required (highlighted in red). The rest are recommended but optional.

Some general points:

•    Remove all JavaScript coding if copying data from your website
•    Ensure that you spell check your data
•    Basic HTML code may be included in the description text
•    Do not exceed the maximum field lengths
•    Ensure the header row is present and is mapped as per the field names below
•    When saving your completed inventory file, ensure to ‘Save As’ either .CSV or .TXT

This is your reference for the property (which could be the property postcode). We use this to uniquely identify each property, and display it on any information that we send to you. E.G  “B1 4PN” This field should not include speech-marks or apostrophes but any other punctuation is accepted.

This should provide potential buyers with enough information to understand everything about the property. Important points to note: •    Ensure each property has a unique title •    Include postcode or area to help identify the properties exact location •    Use title case (e.g. “14 Western Road, 4 Bedroom Semi-detached House, Yardley, Birmingham” •    Do not include the property price within this field Accurate & detailed property titles are important if your properties are to be found when people look on search engines like Google Yahoo! and Bing.

The description should provide FULL details of the property and all its features. This is your opportunity to really sell the property to potential buyers. Important points to note: •    Your description MUST be contained within quotation marks (“description”) •    Use sentence case only (avoid capitalisation) •    Ensure that all property features are included •    Please do not include the property price within this field •    Leave any HTML code within the data. Some can be included and will be reflected in how your property description appears on screen – specifically <li>, <br>, and <p>. All other code is automatically removed. Accurate & detailed product descriptions are vital if your products are to be found via search engines.

Please enter your sale price for the property.  Please do not enter a £ sign or any commas. E.G   “125000”     It is important to use this field wherever possible – potential property buyers love to see that they are saving money!
