Here we will show you how to provide your inventory file in the required format, together with some advice on increasing the likelihood of your items being found when people look on search engines like Google and Yahoo!.
Although there are 20 fields within this guide, only some are required (
highlighted in red). The rest are recommended but optional.
Some general points:
• Remove all JavaScript coding if copying data from your website
• Ensure that you spell check your data
• Basic HTML code may be included in the description text
• Do not exceed the maximum field lengths
• Ensure the header row is present and is mapped as per the field names below
• When saving your completed inventory file, ensure to ‘Save As’ either .CSV or .TXT

• Do not include your shop window name(unless you are the manufacturer), but do include any recognised brand/manufacturer names
• Do not include the item price in this field

Important points to note:
• Your description must be contained within quotation marks (“description”)
• Use sentence case only, e.g. “Women’s Black Neck Scarf”, not “WOMENS BLACK NECK SCARF”
• Ensure that any size, colour, length & weight details are included
• Do not include the item price within this field
• Leave any HTML code in the data. Some can be included and will be reflected in how your item description appears on screen – specifically <li>, <br>, and <p>. All other code is automatically removed.
