They are extremely intelligent and are easy to train. This charming breed enjoys pleasing their owners, so obedience training can be interesting and fun for both owner and dog. Labradooles are friendly towards other dogs and family pets, they love to be around people and if isolated, or left alone for long periods of time, they can become destructive. Exercise Labradoodles require regular physical exercise. A daily walk/run/swim for around 40 – 50 minutes is sufficient. Labradoodles just love to swim and should be allowed to do so whenever possible. Grooming Medium maintenance is required for the Labradoodle. A weekly groom with a soft brush is sufficient.
Health Labradoodles are generally of good health but can be prone to some eye problems. Also hip and elbow dysplasia can be a problem with this breed. Life Expectancy 13 – 15 years History The Labradoodle originated in Australia and is a cross between the Labrador and the Poodle. They are used for many tasks including: retrieving, showing, obedience, agility and as guide dogs. They are a relatively new breed and are not yet recognised by all worldwide dog clubs.
