You can have Lady Gaga perched on your shelf, Rage Against the Machine sprawled on top of your stereo, Lionel Richie reclined in the glove compartment of your car. It seems these days that even CDs are becoming out of date when music is so easy to download, but honestly, it’s nice to know that, while holding a song or an album in your hands, you know you are still going to be able to play it should your computer suffer some kind of meltdown and destroy every single file you own. That happens. A lot. And if it hasn’t happened to you yet, it probably will happen in the not too distant future, because technology hates us. That’s the problem with downloading straight to your computer. There is nothing physical, unlike a CD that you can take from place to place, and technology loves to conk out on us the moment we so desperately need it.
