Body jewellery doesn’t deserve the stigma it has attached to it. It’s not all about having a face full of metal, holes in strange places and scaring old ladies. If you take it a little bit too far, then the chances are you’re going to be scaring someone, but that isn’t always the case.

If they’re in the right place, body jewellery can look very pretty. Nose studs, navel rings, even eyebrow rings can add a little someth’n to an already original look. The slightly more wince-worthy piercings we won’t pass comment on – nipple studs, tongue bars – because it’s your body and you can do what you like with it, just don’t show it to anyone with a weak heart. Oh and don’t get anything pierced for the sake of being rebellious. It’s not cool and it’s not clever, either.
