What is a shop window?
An adflyer shop window is your very own place to sell your goods online - whether you have just one item to sell or several thousand.  With an adflyer shop window you have everything you need to trade online....you can be up and running in minutes and it’s free to set up!
Once your shop window is open,  you can display all your items for sale, you can personalise it as much as you like and - this is the important bit -  start making money from it straight away.

Why do I need a shop window? Why can’t I just sell the items separately?
Good question.

Your items are easier to find – When you open an adflyer shop window, your items for sale are grouped together in one place with your personal stamp on it.

A shop window encourages more impulse buys – If someone browsing on adflyer sees one thing you're selling, they also see all your other items too. This means that a buyer may well be tempted to buy several items from you.

Meet people with similar interests - When all of your items are displayed for sale in one place, you’re much more likely to meet like-minded people or have a conversation with someone who shares your interests.


How do I add items for sale to my shop window?
If you're an existing adflyer user just login and start adding items to your shop window from your seller account.

If you're a first time adflyer user you have to select how you wish to add items to your shop window: either add items individually, add items via the eBay importer or by uploading an inventory file.


How do people buy my items?

Adding items individually
If you’re just selling a few items, you can place them for free and we will assign you with a privacy telephone number on which buyers can contact you. However, for a small charge you can add a “buy now” button to your item and take payment directly through your PayPal account.

Importing items from eBay

After you’ve imported items and feedback from eBay you can set your prices and add “buy now” functions to your items. This means that you take payments directly through your PayPal account.

Uploading an inventory (CSV or tab delimited) file
All items added via an inventory file will automatically be assigned a “buy now” button and the price set as per the file. This will enable you to take payments directly through your PayPal account.


Can I change the name of my shop window?
Your shop window cannot be changed except in the event of documented legal action (such as trademark infringement) at adflyer's discretion. For this reason, please take your time and make sure you're happy with your selected name before registering.

How much does it cost to sell on adflyer?
It’s currently free to list items and close cash deals on adflyer. Items sold through a "buy now" transaction incur a 6% fee on the final sale price.  This is the price your item sells for, plus any shipping that exceeds £10.


How does PayPal work on adflyer?
PayPal is a regularly accepted method of payment with adflyer sellers. A few more details:

1. During a buy now or checkout purchase, the buyer selects PayPal as the payment method.

2. The buyer is directed to PayPal to complete the payment. The buyer can either sign in to their PayPal account or use a credit card without having to register with PayPal.

3. After submitting payment through PayPal, the buyer is directed back to the adflyer confirmation page. At this stage PayPal will send the buyer and seller an email receipt for payment submitted or received.

4. Finally, the adflyer seller will see that their PayPal account has been credited. The payment may need to be confirmed by the seller.

I sold something. Now what?
You will receive an email from PayPal with the buyer's contact and shipping information as well as an order confirmation email from adflyer. If the sale means that you have run out of stock for that particular product, you should remove the item from your shop window. If you have more stock available, and you want the item to be re-listed right away, ensure that you add the available quantity via "edit item" within your adflyer account.

I've received an order email from PayPal but there is nothing showing in my adflyer account?
It's possible that your PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPN) is disabled. This can be amended from within your PayPal account. Don't worry, it's really easy to do. click here to follow the on-screen instructions

How do I pay the fees I incur?
All adflyer charges are paid using the credit card you put on file when you signed up as a seller. At the end of each month we send you a complete list of all your sales with instructions on how to pay your fees (it's quite easy).

What happens if I have to refund a customer? will I still have to pay fees?
It's important to try keep up-to-date with availablity of your products. If you have to refund customers please retain proof (PayPal emails / screen grabs). We can only cancel adflyer fees if proof of refunds has been provided.

What's the difference between the 'My adflyer' page and my shop window?
Your “My adflyer” page is your hub. From it, you can visit and edit your shop window, check on your saved items, make changes to your personal information, and manage all other activities relating to your account and shop window.

How do I change the design panel in my shop window?
login to your adflyer seller account. Go to your shop window and click on the design panel to select one of the library themes or, if you are feeling creative, upload your own design.

How do I change the colour of my shop window?
login to your adflyer seller account. Go to your shop window and  find the orange text "change colour scheme" located below the design panel on the right of the site. Make your shop window unique by editing the colour of your background, price  and menu.

Can I edit all or some of my items in one go?
Not yet, but we are developing a group editing system that will enable you to change the prices and postage policies for all of your items in one batch.

How do I edit items?
login to your adflyer seller account. Find the item you wish to edit from the "Items you're selling" list, then select "edit" from the dropdown menu next to the item.

How do I delete items from my shop window?
login to your adflyer seller account. Find the item you wish to delete from the "Items you're selling" list. Then select "remove this item" from the dropdown menu next to the item.

How do I duplicate an item?

Imagine you’re selling a Manchester United mug. Now, you also happen to have another Manchester United mug with a small chip on the handle. Rather than fill out a whole new item form to get that second mug into your shop window, you could duplicate the first mug details then edit the description to include that bit about the chipped handle.

Where do I go to find viewing stats for my shop window and items?
Coming soon. We are currently building this feature into your seller account. You will be able to view shop window visits, your most popular items and all sales and enquiry details.

How long will my shop window stay online?
Your shop window will stay online until you take it down, or until we start setting limits on how long shop windows can be online.
