A Christmas Adventure
It is winter at Rose cottage and Christmas is fast approaching. But for Arthur
and Lucy Mildew they hold out little hope of receiving any presents. But Tumtum
and Nutmeg have other ideas. Setting out for the house of Mr Toymouse, Tumtum
and Nutmeg hope that he can spare a toy car and a box of magic tricks for Arthur
and Lucy. But the crotchety old Toymouse who hoardes his wonderful collection of
toys has other ideas, and when the Nutmouses appear at his front door they are
in for a nasty surprise. Once again, General Marchmouse and his brother officers
must ride to the rescue and save the day. But can they get the Nutmouses out of
this tight scrape and will Arthur and Lucy get their presents in time for
Chrismas morning? Find out as Emily Bearn serves up a delightful festive treat.

The First Adventure

In the broom cupboard of a small dwelling called Rose Cottage, stands a house
fit for a mouse - well, two mice actually. A house made of pebblestone, with
gables on the windows and turrets peeking out of the roof. A house with a
ballroom, a billiard room, a banqueting room, a butler's room and a drawing
room. The house belongs to Mr and Mrs Nutmouse, or Tumtum and Nutmeg as they
affectionately call each other.Tumtum and Nutmeg have a wonderful life but the
children who live in Rose Cottage, Arthur and Lucy, are miserable. So, one day
Tumtum and Nutmeg decide to cheer them up...Tumtum repairs the electric heater
in the attic where the children sleep and Nutmeg darns the children's clothes.
Arthur and Lucy are delighted and think a Fairy of Sorts is looking after
them. But then Aunt Ivy with her green eyelids and long, elasticey arms arrives.
She hates mice and hatches a plan to get rid of them. Soon Tumtum and Nutmeg are
no longer safe to venture out..."Tumtum and Nutmeg" is a miniature masterpiece
that will be loved by generations to come.

The Great Escape

Tumtum and Nutmeg are enjoying a quiet life in Nutmouse Hall, when General
Marchmouse comes to stay. The General has a new pogo stick and is looking for
adventure. Recklessly, he bounces out of Nutmouse Hall and into Rose Cottage -
the home of the Mildews. He takes Lucy's doll's house under siege with the help
of some toy soldiers and takes a ride on Arthur's train set. He makes a terrible
mess and Lucy and Arthur think a bad fairy has come ...Tumtum and Nutmeg have to
take the General under house arrest to stop his bad behaviour, but the General
plots his escape. Events spiral and the General is taken by Arthur and Lucy and
imprisoned in theirschool! General Marchmouses's reputation as an officer and a
gentlemouse is about to change.
