• Adflyer is a UK site designed to bring local buyers and sellers together, therefore any ads which are from overseas or involve requests to ship overseas or pay money overseas should be treated with caution.
• Never transfer money without having first received the goods.
• Never pay in part for goods that are supposed to be in transit.
• Once you have bought an item from a private seller, you have no legal comeback if the purchased item turns out to be faulty. Always check the goods thoroughly before parting with your money.
• Be wary of sending money via Western Union.
• Be careful when buying expensive items like cars, laptops, plasma TVs or airline tickets.
• Meet the seller face to face and ask to see their ID. We advise only buying and selling with people you can meet. Fraudsters do not meet people, because that is how they get caught!

Advice for sellers

Even if you are a seller, there are scammers awaiting you!

• Be suspicious if the enquiry has many spelling and grammatical mistakes. If it seems that English is not the writers first language and carries a forceful and aggressive tone it is more than likely a scam. The enquirer may want to know "the last asking price" or "the present condition of the item".
• Never disclose your personal information to strangers. E.g bank details and residential addresses etc.
  
• If using Escrow services make sure the agent is legitimate.
• Remember, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.
  

Adflyer is not an intermediary and does not arrange any payments or transactions. If you are contacted by someone who claims to be from Adflyer and asks you to transfer money for an item for sale, the email WILL be fraudulent. Please do not follow any instructions contained in the email and contact us immediately.

For an easy transaction Adflyer recommends that you let the potential buyer view your item before they purchase it. For your own safety we advise that you do not meet the potential buyer alone. If you must, we advise you to let someone know of the meeting time and location.
