Decent photography takes skill and knowledge. See the unforgiving wild bursting with colour and adrenaline and nature, or see the smiling face of a Jewish prisoner in World War II as she regales her fellow prisoners with tales of her children. The old cliché still stands; a picture really does paint a thousand words. Photos tell stories, remind us of places visited and gently stroke memories of past adventures, even if they’re not your own.
